I was born in 1992 in Truro and was brought up in deepest darkest Cornwall. In fact, it was a small sailing club in Mylor, Restronguet Sailing Club, where I learnt to race. I started in an Optimist where my passion for racing really begun. But I soon moved into Toppers which is a highly competitive class which ensured I developed the skills needed to become a racing sailor. I moved up through the RYA’s Junior and Youth Racing Programmes finishing in a Laser Standard. I have represented GBR in Junior and Youth European and World Championships along the way.
I now race yachts, a change in direction that meant that I competed in the 2011 Rolex Fastnet Race whilst a member of the British Keelboat Academy. I was then selected to join Artemis Offshore Academy as a part time squad member. This is a great opportunity as it has allowed me to continue my university studies alongside yacht racing.
Over the past 8 years my focus has been developing the skills towards mounting a successful Vendee globe campaign in the heart of Cornwall. The past year this has been relaised into a boat and project that is going to be based in Cornwall from May 2019.
